MOMA1890 is located in Haidhausen, the so-called artists’ quarter of Munich. Haidhausen borders on the quarters Altstadt-Lehel (in the west), Bogenhausen (in the north), Berg am Laim (in the east), Giesing (in the south) and Au (in the south-west). Often one reads also the combination Au-Haidhausen. This is the name for the city district.

Haidhausen is especially known for its many colorful cafes, restaurants & stores. In addition, you can find small galleries and hidden studios. Highlights in the immediate vicinity of the hotel are certainly the Werksviertel with the Ferris wheel “Umadum”, the Wiener Platz and the Preysingstraße. Also within walking distance are the Gasteig, the German Museum and the Maximilianeum.
